Trial Court Law Clerk
Third Judicial Circuit Court, Lake City, Florida
$41,235.48 Annually*, if awaiting results of Florida Bar or prior to taking Florida Bar exam.
*The successful candidate will be hired at the minimum salary.
The essential function of the position within the organization is to assist the judiciary with case management, pending
litigation and issues, and/or process criminal and civil appeals. The position is responsible for drafting memoranda,
opinions, orders and reports; conducting legal research; reviewing briefs and case files; and advising judges on pending
litigation and issues. The position works under general supervision of the Chief Judge or designee.

Education and Training Guidelines
Juris doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
Licenses, Certifications, and Registrations Required
Membership in the Florida Bar is required within one year of hire.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to communicate complex legal issues in a clear and concise manner, both verbally and in writing; Ability to research and apply Florida law; Ability to work independently and as part of the law clerk team; Ability to prioritize assignments and produce timely and accurate work product; Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters in accordance with Court Administration policies, the Rules Regulating Florida Bar, the Florida Statutes, and the Florida Rules of Judicial Administration.
