Senior Database Analyst
Office of the State Courts Administrator, Office of Information Technology Services, Tallahassee, Florida
The essential function of this position within the organization is to research, design, develop, recommend, and implement database technologies to support business applications. This position works to ensure that the platforms, services, and processes to support the automation of business functions involving Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle database technologies are highly available. That includes the planning and implementation of efficient operational processes that support availability, scalability, and capacity under the direction of the Application/Database Administrator. This position troubleshoots and diagnoses issues with databases providing services to the various business users and application owners. This includes installations, backups, upgrades, monitoring of SQL Server Integration Services Microsoft SQL Server databases and Oracle databases. This position, under the direction of the Database Administrator, participates in feasibility studies, architectural reviews, technical walkthroughs, and planning sessions with business users and other OIT staff. This position is responsible for assisting in the development of standards and policies for application architecture and Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle database administration in the Courts. This position also administers and assists users with third party software, as appropriate.

Bachelor’s degree in business management, information technology, management information systems, computer science, engineering or a closely related field and five years of related experience, including extensive software solution development knowledge and experience.

Knowledge of SQL Server database administration, SQL Server Integration Services, SQL, T-SQL, Oracle database administration, PL/SQL, and Oracle Enterprise Manager.
Knowledge of SQL Server and Oracle database performance monitoring tools and tuning concepts.
Knowledge of or ability to learn application server administration.
Knowledge of database structures and theories.
Knowledge of or ability to learn Team Foundation Server administration and Toad for Oracle.
Knowledge of current database technologies.
Knowledge of data analysis and administration techniques.
Knowledge of networking and security concepts.
Ability to conduct short-range and long-range project planning studies.
Knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of computer programming and system design.
Knowledge of computer operations, systems and procedures.
