ISSUE: Minimum Threshold for Court Funding

Summary: Consideration of a provision in the constitution to provide Florida’s judicial branch with a minimum threshold of funding (e.g., 1 percent or 1.5 percent of the total state budget) to support and enhance judicial operations within the state.

ISSUE: State Funding for Trial Court Technology

Summary: The Florida Constitution requires the state to pay for all costs associated with the state court system except for certain costs that remain county funding responsibilities (including “communications services”, which includes technology).  Consideration of a provision in the constitution to make court technology funding a state responsibility.
