Position Title: Information Systems Analyst

Job Location: Office of the State Courts Administrator, Information Systems Services, Tallahassee, Florida

Salary Range: $3,474.51 - $6,601.57 (Monthly*)

*The successful candidate will be hired at the minimum salary.


The essential function of the position within the organization is to design, analyze, implement and maintain computer programs. The position is responsible for developing computer programs and performing related clerical tasks. The position works under general supervision independently developing work methods and sequences.


Education and Training Guidelines:

Additional relevant experience may substitute for the recommended educational level on a year-for-year basis and additional relevant education may substitute for the recommended experience on a year-for-year basis.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems or a closely related field and two years of related experience.

Uses practical application of fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions, measurements, or logarithms; may use algebraic solutions of equations and equalities, deductive geometry, and/or descriptive statistics.

Communications Requirements:
Reads scientific and technical journals, abstracts, financial reports, and legal documents; writes complex reports; makes presentations to professional groups.

Complexity of Work:
Performs work involving the application of logical principles and thinking to solve practical problems within or applying to a unit or division of the organization; requires continuous, close attention for accurate results and frequent exposure to unusual pressure.

Impact of Decisions:
Makes decisions with moderate impact - affects those in work unit.

Equipment Usage:
Leads or handles machines, tools, equipment or work aids involving moderate latitude for judgment regarding attainment of a standard or in selecting appropriate items, such as computer applications.

Safety of Others:
Requires some responsibility for safety and health of others and/or for occasional enforcement of the standards of public safety or health.


Special Comments:

*This position requires development experience in the following:  Microsoft .Net, IIS, Visual Studio, SQL Server, SSRS, SSIS, Data Modeling, HTML, Javascript, C#.Net, ASP.Net, XML, AD Authentication, SMTP and FTP.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of application design, development, testing, documentation and implementation; Knowledge of the concepts and theories of information systems; Knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of computer technology; Knowledge of relational database design and database design tools; Knowledge of SQL Server, including SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS.); Knowledge of Microsoft .Net and IIS; Ability to use Microsoft Visual Studio and related development tools; Ability to write HTML, Javascript, C#.Net, ASP.Net and XML; Knowledge of Active Directory authentication, Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) and File Transfer Protocol (FTP); Ability to analyze and organize; Ability to analyze and interpret technical data; Ability to design programs and systems; Ability to think logically and solve problems; Ability to evaluate and resolve user problems; Ability to provide technical assistance in the area of computer systems analysis; Ability to communicate technical information verbally and in writing; Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
