Position Title: Law Clerk - District Court

Job Location: Fifth District Court of Appeal, Daytona Beach, Florida

Salary Range: $3,796.34 - $7,213.05 (Monthly*)

$3,416.74 (Monthly) if awaiting results of Florida Bar or prior to taking Florida Bar Exam.

*The successful candidate will be hired at the minimum salary.


The essential function of the position within the organization is to provide assistance in processing appeal cases.  The position is responsible for reviewing briefs, records and case files; performing legal research; analyzing legal issues; drafting/preparing opinions, memoranda, summaries and recommendations; and supervising law student interns.  The position works under general supervision independently developing work methods and sequences.


Education and Training Guidelines:

Additional relevant experience may substitute for the recommended educational level on a year-for-year basis and additional relevant education may substitute for the recommended experience on a year-for-year basis.

Juris doctorate degree from an accredited law school.

Membership in the Florida Bar.

Makes decisions with moderately serious impact - affects work unit and may affect other units or citizens.

Equipment Usage:
Handles machines, tools, equipment, or work aids involving some latitude for judgment regarding attainment of standard or in selecting appropriate items, such as computers, peripherals, or software programs, such as word processing.
